Vegan & Cruelty-free Facial Cleanser Review #1

Happy Saturday! So I am planning to review my skincare hoard in the next following weeks to help those with oily/blemish-prone/combination skin types find the best products for them!

But like always, please make sure to conduct your own research before and after purchasing this products!

First up: cleansers

Tip: look for cleansers made with Tea Tree oil or are designed for your skin type. Creamy or gel cleansers work great also!

My top pick would be the Alaffia Harmonizing facial cleanser for dry or combination skin. I love this facial cleanser because it is creamy and smells like clay (which I like but may be off putting for others). It doesn’t foam like other facial cleansers which to me is great for combination skin because it is not drying. My skin loves this product! My acne has cleared up so much thanks to this cleanser. The ingredients are easy to read and understand; perfect for those who want to know exactly what they are putting on their skin. This product is pretty expensive ($15 or $4.41 per ounce) but the company is black-owned and the profits go to empowering individuals in Togo.

My next favorite is Dr.Woods Tea Tree Facial Cleanser for Oily/Combination skin. This cleanser is vegan and smells amazing! It is refreshing since everyone with oily skin knows Tea Tree Oil helps with breakouts. I found this cleanser helped keep my large pimples away. The price is cheaper than Alaffia’s ($5.54 or .69 per ounce) so if you are looking for a budget-friendly facial cleanser, this is it!

The last one is the Body Shop Tea Tree Skin Clearing Facial Wash. This cleanser is okay. It didn’t really help my breakouts but it also didn’t cause breakouts. The smell of Tea Tree is powerful so if you like the smell of Tea Tree oil, this product has that! It does lather into a foam, which again is not bad but I prefer my cleansers to be creamy. The price is mid-range ($14 or $1.66 per ounce). I am not a fan of the ingredient list (caramel coloring?) but it did make my skin “feel” clean. Overall, I would say pass on this cleanser but if you are in a pinch and at Ulta go for it!

I hope this helped someone out there! Next time, I will focus on toners!
