Peach, coral, and oranges are in the same color family. But while some individuals can wear a peachy color, some look better with a pure orange shade.
Personally, most corals are wore in the summer time for a fresh look but why regret fun colors for the winter time!
If your skintone is within the range of medium to tan:
- and has a warm undertones like Solange, select corals with yellow undertones to them. The goal is to find corals with warm undertones to match your warm complexion. Zuzu Luxe Lipstick in Siren ($19.10) is a medium shade coral with gold flecks to make you sparkle.
- and has a cool undertone similar to Jennifer Hudson, you can rock cool corals with a rosy pink undertone to them. E.L.F Mineral Lipstick in Cool Coral ($5.00) is the perfect blend of coral, orange, and pink.
Now onto the dark to deep skin tones (like myself!):
- If your skintone is similar to Lupita Nyong’o’s or Gabby Union’s with warm undertones, you are lucky! You can wear a true orange color. Think tangerine! Bold and bright, Milani’s Color Statement Lipstick ($5.99) in Coral Addict is a bright orange with gold flecks. Dont’ shy away from this color!
- If your skintone is closer to the model’s and has a cooler undertone, bright red-oranges are better. Jeffree Star Velour Lipstick in Anna Nicole($18.00) is described as an orangey-red that resembles fire.
